On this page is more information on the challenge of Trek Romania 2010, information on how to sponsor our walkers, and all the documentation you need to take part yourself.

The Challenge

So, what exactly are we asking you to do for us this summer?

1. •Walk 45 miles over five days in the mountains of Maramures, northern Romania
   

2. •Survive basic living conditions, including sleeping under canvas
   (2/3 person tents, no toilets or other creature comforts!)
   

3. •Raise a minimum of £1000 sponsorship for the Romanian Foyer Trust *
   

4. •Organize and pay your own travel insurance
   

5. •Get yourself to Budapest, Hungary at your own expense **
   

6. •Collect and pay the balance of your sponsorship money by 30th September 2010
   

1. * This includes a non-refundable deposit of £250 payable by 30th September 2010
   

2. ** We can help you arrange your travel to Budapest, and we’ll take you on
   to Romania from there (see below)
   

We will support you, with:

1. •Accompanied travel, arranged and paid for, between Budapest & Satu Mare
   

2. •Food, accommodation and camping equipment provided in Romania
   (excluding sleeping bag & mat)
   

3. •Baggage transported, camp set up and food prepared each day
   

4. •Guided walking route
   

You will also get a chance to visit historic wooden churches, Romanian Orthodox monasteries and the Foyer, where you will meet some of our young people.

Please note that you will need to arrange your own travel insurance. To take part in the walk, you must be age 18 or over, or else be accompanied by an adult.
